The Kona Aloha Singers is a community chorus that performs four-part harmony (SATB) contemporary music including Pop, Rock, Broadway, R&B, Hawaiian and whatever else we decide to throw in the mix. We are accompanied by a band of musicians at our major concerts.
Founded in 2018, our adult chorus is open to high school students and adults. We rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Beginning in 2024, we added a youth chorus for 1st through 8th graders and they rehearse on Tuesday afternoons from 3:30 to 4:45 pm. We also have plenty of opportuities for non-singers to assist in various administrative positions. (See Volunteer page.)
While we would generally think you would have some skills or experience, we welcome the opportunity to help you grow artistically. Upon application, we only evaluate your singing to assist in placing you within the ensemble. There are no auditions to join. We do, however, conduct auditions for various solo or feature spots.
MISSION
Our mission is to enrich our community’s cultural life through musical performances that empower artistic growth and lifelong friendships within our choruses. We celebrate the sound of the 20th and 21st centuries and honor the contemporary artists whose music connects us all.
